Here are actual examples of previous children who were tested by the Centers For Motivation (names have been changed, and these stories were used with permission of parents):

“Julie, 5-year-old, was seen as distractible and fidgety by her teacher. Her parents were concerned that she may have Attention Deficit Disorder and wanted an ADD/ADHD assessment. When a full battery was administered, we discovered that Julia was exceptionally bright and her behavior was a product of boredom.”

“Kevin was confrontational, had a series of detentions and refused to attend school on a regular basis. Kevin's parents wanted a personality/emotional assessment. After meeting with Kevin and his parents and discussing the benefits of a full psychological battery of tests, they agreed. We discovered that Kevin had mild learning problems and was suffering from Major Depression. With appropriate interventions, Kevin is now finishing high school and has just been accepted to the University of Maryland at Baltimore .”

“Steven, a very quiet and shy, young man, had difficulty socializing with peers and speaking up in class. His grades were average and he often went unnoticed in the classroom. His teacher was concerned about him and asked his parents to bring him for an evaluation. In the full evaluation, we found an injury in his early childhood that affected his memory. Steven had difficulty retaining information and remembering assignments. He became afraid to speak up in class, fearing he may embarrass himself with the wrong answers.”
